Important Dates for 2026

Staff Training: June 1 - 6, 2026

Regular Camp Sessions: June 7 - July 25, 2026

*Burn Camp: July 26 - August 2, 2026

*There will be a great opportunity for staff members to continue their employment for the Midwest Children’s Burn Camp (MCBC) as a Camp Taum Sauk staff member.

Requirements for Employment

Staff Training:

During staff orientation week, we will review our camp policies, procedures and practices and learn new activity skills. You will also learn about leadership, team building, and how to positively impact the lives of others. We encourage you to bring any ideas or materials that will contribute to the creativity and enjoyment of the camp program.

First Aid/CPR Certification:

All staff members are required to have current certification in First Aid/CPR before arriving at camp. Check with the American Red Cross, American Heart Association or any nationally recognized provider of training first aid and CPR.

Additions to Base Salary

CERTIFICATION BONUS:

Lifeguard Certification (American Red Cross or equivalent)

Wilderness First Responder or EMT

Certifications based on activities offered at Camp Taum Sauk (ACA or equivalent)

RETURNING STAFF SIGNING BONUS:

For returning staff only, sign contract by March 1st and receive a $300 signing bonus added to your salary package at the end of the summer, or mutually agreed upon end-date.

REFER A FRIEND BONUS:

For every newly hired staff member you refer, you and your friend will receive a $100 friend bonus added to your salary package at the end of the summer, or mutually agreed upon end-date.

JOB PERFORMANCE BONUS:

Performance-based bonus added to your salary package at the end of the summer, or mutually agreed upon end-date.

*Additional bonuses may be prorated based on contract length.
